Back to Me

I'm finally getting back to the ME I was confident about being years ago.

I can literally feel myself,

mentally and physically,

letting go of my resentment of the people who've made me feel bad about my feelings and motivations,

however naiive, idealistic, and passionate these may be.

And they are finally letting up on me about it,

because I have finally stood up for myself and demanded that they do so.

Reminder to my Husband

If asked to do something, respond nicely yes or no (and why).

If thanked for something, acknowledge the thanks by saying ‘you’re welcome.’

These are small but important things in communication with someone like your wife.

Stardust

"The nitrogen in our DNA,

The calcium in our teeth,

The iron in our blood,

The carbon in our apple pies

Were made in the interiors of collapsing stars."*

If we are stardust contemplating stardust,

Then why don't we flow with the current of life

Instead of swimming against it?

* The statement in quotations is from Carl Sagan, Cosmos (1980).
