Flow With Magic: Intimate and Heartfelt Yoga in Durham

My schedule has been so busy this summer that I'd lost any sort of routine, so I was really grateful when Elena Rodriguez Urbina lead her Saturday in-person asana yoga in her home today just for little ol' me. I'm not a fan of yogaerobics, or yoga solely for the point of exercise, which has made it hard for me to stick with it over the years. Then, several years ago, I started going to Elena's Saturday yoga sessions at EK Powe Elementary School, where she was a teacher and my son went to school ,and which was just a short walk from my house. It was the only time I’d regularly done something - solely for me - in years; and it was not just good for my body- it was good for my soul as well. Today I learned more about Ganesha, the elephant-headed Hindu god of beginnings, who we asked at the beginning of the practice to remove our obstacles. Thanks to Elena, I’m also learning more about astrology and beginning to appreciate how the gravitational pull of the planets affect much more than just my menstrual cycles. Now that my son’s started school again, we should be in Durham for a while. I’m looking forward to regular yoga again.

If you’d like to join Elena’s Monday evening and Saturday morning yoga practices via Zoom or in-person (notification required for the latter), you can do so here: https://flowithmagic.com.
